If you're an artist I will need to see your work, either through images or in person.
We will have a conversation about what kind of text you need, how you want to present it, and for what purpose. This can be on the phone or during a meeting.
You will get a first draft in a few days, and we can have another conversation to make one more edit to the text.
Pricing
Standard price for an artist statement, project/exhibition statement for an individual is 500 EGP.
Starting prices for translating is 350 EGP and for editing 200 EGP.

Main services
Artist statement
An artist statement makes your work more accessible to audiences, and it's often what people will see before encountering the artwork. A good artist statement is clear, preferably short, and adds something to the artwork by inviting people to look closer.
An ideal statement is between 120 - 200 words, but varies depending on each artist's practice and where it will be used.
artist biography
The artist's biography tells people more about your background, your experience, and the direction your work is taking over the years.
exhibition statement
For individual or group exhibitions, this text ties everything together. How the artworks on display link to a certain idea, or to the artist's practice
Project statements
This is different from the artist statement in that it's more specific to a single project. It takes people more into the ideas of a body of work, and places it in relation to your larger practice. This is often placed on websites, where you can show a group of projects.
translation
Currently translation is from Arabic to English only. Translation will be as accurate as possible, but not always literal. We translate the meaning, and the spirit of the text, so that it flows smoothly and makes sense.
editing / revisions
It is important for an artist to have an artist statement that keeps up with his developing practice. We edit or refresh texts that need to be updated, for new or returning clients.

Material for websites and proposals are usually a mix of other materials such as the artist statement, bio, and project statements. Let us know, and we can tailor the text for whatever purpose you need.
